Our Chemical Peel Technique

At Contemporary Dermatology, we will have you lying down in a relaxed position to administer your peel. We will ensure the skin is cleaned prior to applying the customized solution to the face and/or neck, which will set for an appropriate length of time. Finally, we will clean the solution off your face and apply a neutralizing agent. You are encouraged to bring a light sunscreen and/or a hat to wear outside following the treatment to avoid UV exposure. Depending on the strength of the peel you choose, you should expect the treated area to peel and itch, from several days to two or more weeks. Our team will discuss ways to treat your skin during your consultation. It's not helpful to pick at the flaking skin, as this could produce scarring.
